What we do

Ways we serve our staff

Every event is an opportunity to help our teachers, faculty and staff feel seen, supported and appreciated.

Secret AngelOur GCS version of a secret buddy.+

Parents can sign up for a staff member to secretly bless them. A few times during the year, we will send out a SignUpGenius for you to select a staff member to bless.

Teacher Snacks & Stock the LoungeTreats, breakfast, coffee and favorite snacks for our staff.+

Several times per year, we stock the lounge with individually packaged snacks, drinks, coffee and tea to keep the staff fueled through their hard work.

Parents provide an item related to the month’s theme. Items are dropped off in the morning during carpool.

Gift Card GiveawayA quarterly chance to bless our teachers and staff.+

Each quarter, we ask parents to send in $10 gift cards. Staff members love selecting their own gift card from local businesses.

This year, we are adding the school coffee shop to our gift card wish list.

Set Up & Clean UpLend a hand with monthly treats and special events.+

Morning Set Ups: Collect items during morning carpool and set up treats at 7:15 a.m.

Afternoon Clean Ups: Clean up after monthly treats, usually at 1:30 p.m.

Special Events: Help set up, serve and/or clean up at Christmas and End-of-Year Luncheons.

GCS Annual Cookie ExchangeOur Thanksgiving tradition of giving cookies to the staff.+

Bakers provide 2–3 dozen individually packaged, homemade cookies to be distributed to the staff.

Packers collect cookies during morning carpool, then stay to pack boxes and distribute them to teachers and staff.

GSM Coffee BarSend a teacher their favorite drink from the SLC.+

At the GSM Coffee Bar register in the Student Life Center, scan the QR code to see each staff member’s favorite order.

You can leave the treat at the front office for delivery.

Carpool drop-off reminderItems for teacher treats and Stock the Lounge are dropped off in the morning during carpool.

About GCS PTF

Parents and teachers,
side by side.

The Parent-Teacher Fellowship, commonly referred to as PTF, is designed to serve and support our school by recognizing and appreciating our wonderful teachers, faculty, and staff throughout the school year.

We show our love, support, and appreciation for their hard work and service to our families through a variety of activities during the year, including monthly treats, snacks in the lounges, gift cards, our annual Cookie Exchange, Christmas and End-of-Year Luncheons, and more.

Whether you have five minutes or five hours, there is a place for you here.

How can I
get involved?

The PTF depends on parent volunteers to make each event a success throughout the year. We invite and encourage all families to participate in as many activities as possible.

Please read the descriptions of the volunteer areas and consider volunteering in one or more of them.

01

How do I find out about PTF events?

SignUpGenius is our primary means of communication for PTF activities throughout the year. We send volunteer invitations for each event by email so you can quickly identify the needs and volunteer in the way that best suits your family.

GCS PTF also maintains Facebook and Instagram pages for event announcements.

02

Who can I contact if I have more questions?

If you have questions now or throughout the year, contact us at PTF@gastonchristian.org.

We look forward to serving together to make this a year in which our teachers and staff know they are loved and appreciated.
